Why does this item say "Open Box"?
These are items that have been tested or very lightly-used and then returned as part of the Massager machines and More 30-Day Satisfaction Warranty. We don't offer them unless there's no way to tell that they're not the brand new item. We can't sell these as new again, but as long as they work perfectly and look brand-new we can drastically reduce the price and sell as an open-box.
IMPORTANT: Open Box items are in as-new condition after some light-use/display purposes. All sales are final and non-refundable. Open Box items are priced to sell and are not covered under the usual Machines and More 30-day Satisfaction Warranty. However, they are still covered under the full manufacturer's warranty just like a brand new item, and are guaranteed to be in great working condition when shipped out.
Why do you have "Open-Boxes" of this item?
There can be many reasons for an open-box/returned item: a husband thought a massager would be a great gift, but a wife was hoping for diamonds; a wife thought she could buy a massager and give her hands a break from massaging her husband's feet- but he didn't go for it; or the item just wasn't exactly what someone wanted.
For this item specifically, we have returns from people who said it was too strong for their needs. It's an amazing item, but true-Shiatsu massage is not not everyone!
What do customers mean by "strong"?
Specifically, this item has airbags that inflate to completely surround your legs and feet, holding them firmly in place while massage nodes aggressively knead at your reflexology points.
For many people this is heaven on earth for their aching feet. Its very much akin to an authentic Asian Reflexology massage, and suited to those whose massage philosophy is "no pain, no gain!"
Biggest fans of this item have strong legs, are used to deep tissue massage, and have no preexisting conditions or foot surgeries. People with knots in their feet seem to really benefit from this item.
People who are not as well suited for this item are those with prior injuries, or any level of sensitivity (quite often this will include our elderly customers). Although the airbags can help people with circulation issues, those individuals are often more sensitive and less likely to enjoy this style of deep tissue massage.

Sizing:
The Zero Gravity Leg Massager is manufactured and calibrated to fit an average sized calf/lower leg. Very slender calves or very large calves might not fit comfortably into the machine or receive the total benefits of the massage. In general, people with calves wider than 16 inches in diameter will find this item to be too tight. If you have concerns, please call before purchasing.

We worked with our makers to develop an alternative so we could still offer something like the Sanyo. The result is this item and we love it!
