    **What this means to you:
    We care about your feet.
Other leading brands are 73% Nylon and 27% spandex. You know what nylon will do to your feet on a hot day. Good luck keeping dry! They also claim that their "microfibers wick away moisture six times faster than regular fiber".
Think about it, where does the moisture go? You guessed it! It seeps right into your shoes. And with enough moisture and in your shoes, you are going to have an odor problem that no antibacterial sock can help.
The "secret" of BlakSox is that having a bit of Mother Nature's cotton makes a really big difference.

We have a lot more information for you about compression socks and our BlakSox to help you better understand why we think you?l love these, click on the links below.

    Important sizing information

What are graduated compression socks and how do they work?
Compression socks (stockings) are specially designed to increase blood circulation and provide support for both men and women.
They're ideal for people with a variety of leg ailments, travelers, and people who just spend a lot of time on their feet.
Our graduated compression socks create significant pressure on your legs, ankles and feet and compress (put pressure on) the muscles, surface veins and arteries forcing the circulating blood through narrower channels. In other words, the graduated elasticity provides a continuous "massage" which causes more blood to be pumped back to the heart with each step instead of remaining pooled in your feet.

Blaksox compression stocking support What kind of support do these support socks provide?
Blaksox offer the optimal level of graduation support for almost everyone. The pressure is (from ankle up):
    40 hPa
    36 hPa
    22 hPa
    18 hPa

This translates to graduated compression in the following mmHg terms:
    40 hPa = 30 mmHg, 36 hPa = 27 mmHg, 22hPa = 16.5 mmHg, 18hPa = 13.5 mmHg.
    Most compression socks sold in the US fall into the following ranges;
    12-16mmHg 16-20mmHg 20-30mmHg 30-40mmHg and 40-50mmHg

Ours cover a wider range of graduation (13.5 mmHg to 30 mmHg) taking the guesswork out for you (which to buy) and are designed to be an optimal solution for your leg and circulation problems.

And what does that support chart mean to me?
This range of compression pressures at different points on your leg is the secret of our amazing compression socks. Compression socks are tightest at the ankles and gradually become less constrictive towards the knees.

To explain: every day as we stand, walk, travel or even sit, our bodies pump blood to all of our extremities as equally as they can.

    The problem, however, is Gravity.

Gravity can cause blood to pool in our lower legs and feet, which causes major circulatory problems such as thrombosis, edema and phlebitis.
Even when it's not that severe, it still causes cause leg fatigue, stress and cramps.

As you know, when this happens you can put your feet up for a bit which might temporarily lessen the pain and swelling, but it always returns after a couple hours of standing or walking. Blaksox is the solution.

Blaksox compression socksWho should use compression socks and when?
Compression stockings were originally prescribed to patients but are now also available in non-prescription strength, and ours are stylish and natural-looking as well.

Athletes, travelers and people who sit or stand for long periods of time, people with poor circulation in their legs, people with varicose veins, and anybody, male or female, who likes the extra support should use them.

Compression stockings are even recommended by experts on long flights to prevent common leg ailments such as leg cramps and edema and even serious life-threatening conditions, such as DVT. Frequent long-distance travelers should know about deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in which a blood clot forms in the deep larger veins, usually in the leg; if the clot dislodges and moves through the venous system, it could block a vein of the heart, brain or lungs.

When you start wearing your Blaksox, you will notice the "squeeze" action in your legs. Start by wearing them for a few hours and slowly increase the time until you're comfortable wearing them all day.

Who should NOT use compression stockings?
    - If you have weak hands or arthritis, getting these stockings on may be a little difficult.
    - People who are diabetic
    - People who smoke
    - People who have a decreased blood supply to the legs
(Compression stockings may further decrease the blood supply, aggravating the existing condition.)

Where are they made and what are they made of?
These Blaksox are made in a state-of-the-art factory in Japan of the highest quality materials.
BlakSox are made of 33% Polyester, 26% Cotton, 26% Acrylic Fiber, 8% Nylon and 7% Polyurethane.

    Important!
Sizing is based on your actual foot measurements (not shoe size) for a more precise fit.
Blaksox are available in, as the name says, Black.
